Explaining in depth the capabilities of the ICT companies in Cantabria and establishing the necessary relationships so that their hiring is considered when business opportunities arise outside the region has been the main objective pursued by the representatives of the Tera Cluster during their meeting with the general director of the Multisectoral Association of Information Technology, Communications and Electronics Companies, AMETIC
Roberto García and Juan Carlos Ramos, vice president and manager of Tera respectively, reminded Francisco Hortigüela that the ICT sector in Cantabria is made up mostly of highly specialized companies. These niche capabilities together with the ease of management that working with small entities entails constitute a highly appreciated competitive value when forming consortiums.
“In Cantabria we have companies that are largely unknown in Madrid, but that offer high-value solutions” García qualifies. In this sense, with the purpose of improving business opportunities for its associates, Tera’s spokespersons have asked the national reference group for “a little more sensitivity towards companies outside Madrid”.
The Tera Cluster has been part of AMETIC since its constitution four years ago. A period in which the Cantabrian organization has grown both in number of associates and in prescription capacity. . For this reason, during the meeting held in Madrid, they have asked Hortigüela to play a more active role in the 37th Meeting of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications, which will be held at the end of summer at the Menéndez Pelayo International University. “It would be a perfect window to enhance our visibility at the national level,” says Ramos.
During the meeting, Tera also expressed her willingness to make better use of all the study, research and diagnostic work carried out by AMETIC on the ICT sector in Spain. “It is about getting to know the field of ICT in Spain even better and, above all, having the necessary information to detect new business opportunities” clarify Tera’s spokespersons. Currently, of the 21 AMETIC work commissions, Tera is represented in the two corresponding to Industry and Digital Health.
Finally, Tera’s spokespersons hope that this proximity to the most representative association of the sector at the national level will facilitate the approach of Cantabrian companies to the main trends that will be implemented in the short and medium term.
