The Tera Cluster joins the DTx Consortium and strengthens its position in the digital transformation of the health sector
This is an initiative that aims to advance the regulation of digital therapies and facilitate their access to the health products market.
The Tera Cluster has signed a collaboration agreement with the DTx Consortium by which it becomes part of this strategic alliance of leading organizations from different sectors whose objective is to promote a regulatory and market access model for digital therapies (DTx) in Spain. In this way, through the Digital Health Commission, the Cluster consolidates the technological exploitation of the health sector as one of its main avenues of specialization.
The DTx Consortium is made up of twenty-eight members – twenty-nine after the incorporation of Tera – among organizations and entities from different sectors, both from the private sector and from the public Administration. “This alliance will allow us to generate synergies and business opportunities with leading companies in the healthcare area,” says David Pérez, president of the Cluster Health Commission.
Furthermore, this accession to the CDTx will allow Tera to expand its lines of action in the digitalization of the health sector. Specifically, it may contribute to the definition and implementation of a regulatory and market access model for digital therapies in Spain.
Through this agreement, both parties commit to collaborating to generate knowledge of high added value that supports the development of digital therapies. The objective is none other than to consolidate the position of the industry, facilitate its access to the market and reduce the ‘time-to-market’ of digital therapies in the National Health System (SNS). Likewise, cooperation will be promoted to encourage the creation of a multi-sector ecosystem of collaboration with public-private stakeholders.
The DTx Consortium project contemplates execution in three phases. In this sense, phase 1 (Set-up) has been developed during 2022 with actions based on dialogue with key agents of the Administration. Additionally, awareness about DTx has been raised in the medical community, among patients and caregivers, aimed at facilitating the adoption of these solutions in the healthcare system. Phase 2 (Co-creation) has focused on the analysis of trends through meetings with representatives of different autonomous communities and national and international experts with the intention of creating an informative ‘White Paper’ on the implementation of digital therapies in Spain. In addition, Think Tanks have been developed with health professionals, patients and members of the industry and a communication strategy has been launched, with the aim of positioning the Consortium as the main reference source on digital therapies in the Spanish language.
The Tera Cluster joins CDTx in phase 3, scheduled for development in 2024. The mission of this third stage consists of the expansion of dissemination and training actions, while consolidating knowledge through support in implementation of DTx in the SNS. In this sense, the intense dissemination carried out by the Cluster of all its activities will constitute solid support in the dissemination task.
