The generation of business for its associates and the evolution of Cantabria towards a community capable of taking advantage of all the benefits associated with digital transformation are two of the strategic axes that support the activity of the Tera Cluster. The recent constitution of the specialized commissions on Education and Industry aims to facilitate the achievement of both objectives.

After the constitution of an expert working group in digital health, the Tera Cluster has complied with the wishes of its members and has launched two more sectoral groups. In addition to leading the Cluster’s action in their respective areas, these teams help to correct handicaps inherent to the region’s ICT sector, such as the small size of companies or their very high specialization in very specific business niches. In this sense, the commissions facilitate collaboration through knowledge of capabilities and the formation of consortia to attend any type of call.

Alejandro Trigos, general director of Cifra, and Agustín Ruiz, manager of Infotec, have been appointed as president and vice president of the Digital Education Commission. Accompanied by representatives of the companies Axolot, Estela Cántabra, PsicoAcademy, Binarybox and Viacore IT, they will try to offer technological solutions that help improve teaching, learning and educational management. Likewise, in line with the main objective of the Cluster, the Digital Education Commission will try to generate new business opportunities for companies, consolidating their position as providers of technological solutions that positively impact educational quality.

A group specialized in Industry will be led by Luis Villaverde, director of Grupo LVF, and Jacinto Pelayo, CEO of Evenbytes. This commission has the objective of optimizing all the possibilities that will arise in the necessary digital transformation of the industrial sector of the region. From improving manufacturing processes to perfecting supply chain management, through applied IoT solutions, automation processes or AI projects. An endless number of cases that should contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the sector, as well as guaranteeing its sustainability in the medium and long term.
Axolot, N World, Menntun, Viacore IT, Acorde Tech and Sodercan complete the composition of this working group that shares one of its objectives with its Education and Health counterparts. Beyond their marked market orientation, these commissions will try to establish solid and fluid relationships with the different institutional representatives.
The establishment of a calendar of periodic meetings to define more specific strategies and work modalities, as well as the detailed analysis of both sectors will be the next steps of these commissions in the medium term.
