The collaboration agreement signed this Monday involves the implementation of training programs, sectoral events and actions to attract talent

The Santander International Entrepreneurship Center (CISE) and the Association of Information and Communication Technologies of Cantabria (Clúster TERA) sealed a strategic alliance on Monday to promote entrepreneurial capacity in the ICT sector of Cantabria.

The main objective of the CISE, as part of the UCEIF Foundation, is to generate a positive impact on society by promoting the creative and innovative capacities of people and groups. To this end, it develops training programs and activities that promote entrepreneurship in all layers of society. Therefore, supporting companies to promote entrepreneurship among their professionals is a strategic activity of the CISE that fits perfectly with the objective of the TERA Cluster: to give an important boost to all the agents that operate in the ICT sector of Cantabria to improve its positioning and competitiveness in the national and international ICT market.

For its part, the TERA Cluster, created in 2019 to bring together all ICT companies in Cantabria, becomes a strategic ally for the CISE as it will facilitate the participation of companies in the sector in training programs that are based on the experience professional, such as ‘CISE Mentoring Network’ or ‘e2’ (Student for Entrepreneur).

CISE and TERA will create a joint working group that will identify the needs of the sector in terms of entrepreneurship and propose actions that will make it possible to turn weaknesses into strengths. Some of the actions already identified as necessary are the training and training of digital profiles, the creation of training events such as ‘hackathons’, the training of new mentors for joint work programs, such as the ‘CISE Mentoring Network’, and actions to attract talent outside of Cantabria.

The general director of the UCEIF Foundation, Francisco Javier Martínez, and the general director of Ambar Telecomunicaciones and vice president of TERA, Roberto García, have signed this Monday the collaboration agreement that will allow the start of joint activities between CISE and the Cluster.

The executive director of the CISE, Manuel Redondo, and the director of Strategy, Federico Gutiérrez-Solana, have underlined the opportunity that this collaboration represents: “This alliance will allow us to transfer all the knowledge and entrepreneurial skills acquired by the CISE in its ten years of experience and research to a sector as important as ICT, the engine of social and economic transformation. Collaborating and coordinating efforts with strategic economic sectors for Cantabria is one of our top priorities”.

Juan Carlos Ramos, manager of the TERA Cluster, affirms that “the strategic alliance with CISE contributes to the development of an entrepreneurial culture in society and especially in young people, which will undoubtedly help us to face the technological challenges of the future”.

Partners in a strategic alliance

It has the support of Banco Santander, the University of Cantabria and the Government of Cantabria to develop training programs that stimulate people’s creativity while supporting entrepreneurial and innovation initiatives through different national and international programs.

The TERA Cluster was founded in February 2019 with the aim of bringing together all ICT companies in Cantabria, a growing sector and internationalization process that generates employment, wealth, competitiveness and innovation. TERA currently has more than 25 partners, to whom it offers all kinds of services, and who add up to more than 10 million investment in R&D&i.
